9.5 Months old….smh!

Wednesday, October 16, 2013  ::  9.5 Months old….smh!

Hello, Everyone!

Sorry it has been so long since our last post. There has been a lot going on; good and bad.

Walking Update:

I am crawling very well now…..mommy and daddy says i’m doing almost too well. What can I say, I am a girl on a mission. Mainly that mission is to get from point A to point B as fast as I can and some times I find some food (anything on the floor) on the way. I also have mastered the art of pulling myself up on the couch, mommy’s and daddy’s legs, tables, chairs and anything I can get some leverage on. And I also do what mommy calls my “couch walk” but just won’t do it for the camera, haha!

Sickness:

Well we had a little scare there for a while, I think in September, I had been running a low grade fever for a couple of days. I felt fine though, other than just filling warm all the time, which called for mommy and daddy to touch my forehead every 5 seconds and check my temp every time I changed diapers….that was just uncalled for. During that time Daddy stayed home with me for like two days….it was great! Mommy was jealous. Well then on Monday (Labor Day) my temp spiked to 104 degrees and mommy and daddy were both concerned so we took a trip to the emergency room, where stayed for 4 hrs….it felt like forever.  They took my temp and even took a urine sample by means of a “catheter”, let me tell you it was not a pleasant experience. Daddy was upset with the nurse and claimed she didn’t know what she was doing. I was just glad it was over. We waited some more and we got the results from the urine sample and yes, I had my first UTI (Urinary Tract Infection)….ugh!!! All don’t know what all that means but it couldn’t be good from the expressions on mommy’s and daddy’s face. So obvious this meant I need some medicine….I was hoping in the form of a liquid bottle…well this small bottle the nurse came back in with had a sharp scary needle attached to it. WHY ME?!?!?! and yes it hurt. We went home got my prescription, 10 days of antibiotics. We were getting ready to sit down and eat when I started to not feel so good. Daddy looked at me strangely and asked mommy if my lip looked purple. It started getting real cold real fast, but my little body was burning up and I started shivering. I was scaring mommy and daddy so they called “911” and  shortly after two really nice EMS guys came to the door. I could see their pretty car outside with their lights flashing. Well the nice EMS guys could tell mommy and daddy were overwhelmed so they started taking my temp and pulse, it was a challenge since they didn’t have the proper equipment to check a baby. But they managed with what they had and suggested I take some tylenol, so daddy fixed me some while I sat with mommy. In probably 30 mins I was back to normal, my color came back and I wasn’t shivering any more.

After that we had a follow up with my doctors, which was a long doctor visit. Then we went to a Urologist and again I was cath’d again but this time it wasn’t too bad and then they ran a die into it. They said  they were checking for any kidney reflux, but luckily it came back negative. I thought we were done but not quite, we went into a dark room and one of the nurses came in and had me undress again and this time put some warm goo on my belly, they were doing an ultrasound of my kidneys. They found that I had hydronethesis. Its basically where one of the kidneys was not emptying completely. Well that didn’t sound good.

So then off to another doctor visit. It was not a good visit, first the doctor made daddy upset by rescheduling the to 3hrs after the initial appointment time. Oh and we were already on our way. So we spend 3 hrs driving around greenville. Finally we went to the doctor’s office and when we finally saw the doctor it was like a 10 min visit, with upset daddy even more. Oh and heres the “icing on the cake”, she prescribed me a low dose of antibiotics but called daddy the next day to tell him she prescribed me the wrong one. AWEFUL Experience with that doctor.

But anywho….I am feeling much better now.

Other News….

I had my first experience at the Inman Harvest Festival. It was AMAZING. So much fun. We walked and talked with a lot of people, it was me, mommy, daddy, Aunt Brittany, Christina, Jamie, Graham, and Thad.

Oh and I have learned that I like mommy and daddy’s food more than I like me own. I have this new method of getting their attention, it works every time. I call it “Growlling”.

Vacation

We were lucky enough to take two vacations this year. First we went to Seabook Island, SC for 4 day with Uncle Jason, Aunt Felicia and Gabriel (and I guess Elijah was sort of there too). It was fun, we hung out on the beach, played in the sand and ocean too. We saw wild deer, sharks, crabs, and all sorts of animals.

Second vacation was to the OBX (Nags Head, NC) it was soooo much fun. We got an awesome house right across from the beach. It was really my first vacation with along of family. Uncle Bo, Aunt Melissa, Natalee, Isaac, Uncle Tree, Aunt Christy, Delila, Chancellor, Maxwell, Uncle Phiseth, Aunt Nu, Seth and Tizee. We stayed the whole week, I hope we get to do this every year.

GOOD NEWS….

Mommy and Daddy told me that I was going to be BIG Sister. What great news……I wonder where they are getting this new baby from. I hope the baby gets here soon. So EXCITED!

Wow….5months flew by…

Tuesday, June 3, 2013  ::  Wow….5months flew by…

Well a lot has happened since my last post, so I’ll try to catch you up. On my last post I was sick, well then I ended up with the Crooping cough. Mommy calls in the “Seal Bark.” So you know what that mean, another shot OUCH! this time it was a steroid shot.

During mommy’s Spring Break. I got to stay home with Mommy all week. Then Daddy took off Friday and we all took my first trip to Charleston for the day. It was a great trip, but windy. Daddy swore he saw dolphins at the pier but me and mommy were convinced he was seeing things. Well then the next day we drove up to Charlotte to see Uncle Chay and Brooks play in a flag football tournament at the Carolina Panthers’ Stadium. It was soooooo cool. And they did pretty good too, well they made it to the second day of the tournament. We hung out with them for dinner and then drove back home.

The month of April was pretty uneventful. Daddy’s Birthday was in April and oh yea I got my 4 month vaccination shots. That was loads of fun. I actually bled some this time. My stats from the doctor was not pleasing to mommy. Her and daddy were real concerned about me not gaining weight, well more so mommy was concerned. We started eating baby food and back to a 2hr feeding routine. That lasted for a while and then mommy was ok that I gained a little more weight.

The month of May was pretty exciting. It was mommy’s first Mother’s day. Me and daddy got mommy some flowers, jewelry and a watch. Oh and the watch, daddy says it gains power from the sun…..so cool. We also got Nana some stuff too. We got here a picture frame with my Hand and Foot prints and a bracelet that was especially for grandma.

Walking Update….Not Yet! I just stated to roll over in May. I’m still not that great at it but it comes and goes. I really like to surprise mommy when she’s not looking and then I just flip over. I love the look on her face when she sees me flipped over. Its priceless.

Now we are in June. Mommy’s Birthday was yesterday (Sunday the 2nd), but we celebrated it on Saturday with a cookout and lots of food and friends. Daddy was on the grill while mommy and I entertained the crowd. It was soo much fun, we ate, laughed, watched cartoons, played Spades and all sorts of stuff. Spades looked like a lot of fun, because Mommy and Aunt Brittany were laughing sooooo hard and they were winning some too.

Well hopefully I won’t be too busy until the next posting. Mommy is now out for the summer and we are going to spend a lot of time together. I know Daddy is jealous. =)

Sick…..ugh!

Thursday, March 21, 2013  ::  Sick….ugh!

It has been a week….I have been sick for almost a week. It seems like its been forever. I have been congested, running nose and coughing. Daddy and Mommy felt so bad for me, they decided to take me to the doctors. I saw a new doctor today Dr. McCloud, instead of the usual Dr. Edwards. But that was ok. She had a lot of questions and was very nice. They did a RSV test, where they swabbed my nose. It was not fun. Well we left with a prescription for some cough medicine. At first I did not think it was going to be that great but it was not too bad. I hope it works so far so good. But we will see if it works in the next couple of days. I know Mommy, Daddy and I are looking forward to more sleep. YAY!

After a long hiatus

Thursday, March 14, 2013  ::  After a long hiatus

Well its been over a month since my last post. My Mommy has gone back to work unfortunately. I know she hates leaving me. And poor Daddy has been sick for over three week, he has this horrible cough and carries tissues every where he goes just in case he has to blow his nose. I feel bad for him.

A lot has changed in a month, I’m growing everyday. That’s what my Mommy and Daddy says. I am trying to talk more (kooing sounds) and I am smiling more too. Mommy and Daddy loves it. They’re so easily amused.

Daycare has been interesting, there is always someone not happy in there always crying and screaming. I don’t see what the big fuss is all about, all I know is it makes it extremely hard for a girl to take nap now-a-days. Some interesting things have happened so far that Mommy and Daddy were not too pleased with: 1, Mommy came to pick me up and I had a dirty diaper that had overflowed and up my back  ::  2, Ms. Tammy asked Mommy where she should put my pacifier, but it was not my pacifier. Mommy was disgusted with the whole ordeal. Thats two strikes.

Switch-A-Roo  ::  Spartanburg, SC……..Yesterday Mommy supposedly went a little crazy at the consignment store. I heard her telling Daddy that is was such a great deal. But Daddy wasn’t amused but yet he agreed it was worth it.

Tonight  ::  Pizza Inn

We spent time with my Auntie Dana, Auntie Jill, GooGa and their family at Pizza Inn, apparently it is Mommy’s favorite place according to Daddy. Thursday Night is their family night and they are nice enough to let us hang out with them. I really enjoy all the extra attention I get from everyone. Its nice!

The Dreadful Day…Daycare!

Wednesday, February 20, 2012  ::  The Dreadful Day

Last Night was a little different than usual. Mommy seemed a little sad and I overheard her talking to Daddy about planning for the morning. I was wondering where we were going, but I quickly realized “we” were not going anywhere. Mommy had to go back to work. These last 8 weeks have been amazing. I really enjoyed being Mommy’s “sidekick”. Daddy had to  go back to work after only 2 weeks. I have always wondered what this concept of “work” really meant? Was it all that fun? Well this morning, I decided that I was hungry about 4:30am and Mommy asked Daddy if he could fix my bottle (breakfast shake). So that way Mommy could get a little more sleep. During breakfast Daddy kept asking if I was ready to go back to “school” (I knew “school” = “daycare”). I remembered the last time they said those word I went to a place where they left me with a nice lady named “Ms. Tammy.” She was super nice, I liked her. There were other kids there too, some were louder than others. I did not see the big fuss. But I only stayed a few hours. I wonder if it’ll be that way today? Well we are getting ready, so we’ll see what the day has for us….I’m going to miss Mommy and Daddy today…..especially Mommy! =(

2 Month Appt…more like BIG ouch day!

Tuesday, February 19, 2013  ::  2 Month Appointment

Well the day started off as usual. It was a Tuesday, I woke up with mommy and daddy. I had my breakfast and I noticed mommy getting my bag ready to go somewhere. Then I realized, I have a visit with my doctors today, but they call themselves Pediatricians. It was not too bad last time so I was ready. We walked outside and it was nasty and cold and rainy. I should have known this was going to be a BAD day. We got to the doctors office, I overheard mommy calling it the Duncan office. Well we sat around in the lobby with one other family but she was a older girl. We were not there long and I heard my name called, “Abigail Lim” she called….That’s me. We followed the nice nurse lady to the back, I think she said her name was Nancy. They got me undressed and weighed me…..”10 lbs 10.5oz”….I heard my daddy say with excitement. Well then we went back to our room and I saw Nurse Nancy bring in a red tray with four tube looking things with caps on them…they looked too small to be my bottles. I was curious to what they were. Well they proceeded to take measurements of my length (22.25 in) and circumference of my head (15.125 in). Then Nurse Nancy held down my legs tighter, as if I was about to run away. Then I heard her say to Mommy and Daddy “ready”……….Then the worse pain I have ever felt in my whole entire life. THREE shots to the legs and one oral vaccine. OMG….it was AWEFUL!. I cried and cried until I could not cry anymore. Mommy quickly scooped me up and held me tight. It was like Mommy had magic….because it didn’t hurt anymore! After that ordeal I was ready to leave and go home…..and we did.
